Sean McDonagh and Donal Dorr launch books
Fr Sean McDonagh SSC and Fr Donal Dorr are both launching books in the next two weeks.
Sean McDonagh’s book is entitled Fukushima: The Death Knoll for Nuclear Energy?
Sean McDonagh writes and lectures on the relationship between faith, justice and ecology. He became involved in tackling global poverty and environmental degradation during his missionary years in the Philippines. His research and writings have since extended to species extinction, fresh water depletion, the patenting of lifeforms by the corporate world, and making a connection between global warming and poverty.
His new book will be launched by Duncan Stewart at All Hallows College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 on Thursday 8 November at 7pm (Café Retreat, Purcell House Conference Centre)
Donal Dorr’s book is entitled Option for the Poor and for the Earth. It will be launched on Monday 12 November at 6pm in the Wesley House, Leeson Park, Dublin 6 (beside the Wesley Chapel). The Book will be launched by Justin Kilcullen, Director of Trócaire
Light non-alcoholic refreshments will be served from 6.00pm. At 6.30 pm, people move into the (seated) hall where Justin will introduce the book. This will be followed by the author giving a thirty-minute lecture entitled: Recent Developments in Catholic Social Teaching. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase copies of the book at a 40% reduction on the retail price.
