30Oct ACP Leadership pay tribute to online team

Message of thanks from the ACP Leadership:

As we celebrate ten years of the Association of Catholic Priests, we are aware that among the services we have been able to provide to the Irish Church, our website must rank among the highest. Many people have contributed to it through those years.

We thank Pat Rogers for his enormous contribution in the Liturgy section, with a consistently high quality of reflections on the Mass readings, both for Sundays and daily Masses. We are delighted that he is making a good recovery from a particularly difficult brush with Covid 19. We wish him a full return to health, and that he will be able to continue his great work for us all, along with his colleague Gerry Bennett. In the same section of the site Bernard Cotter also makes an invaluable contribution, with his liturgy notes and prayers.

One man is retiring after a good many years of great service. Mattie Long has been the moderator of the site for most of the past ten years. He has done it with great professionalism, and also with good humour and patience. Those of us who had direct dealings with Mattie through the site will miss his presence greatly.

Liamy Mac Nally is now taking over as moderator, and he is encouraged by the fact that Mattie will still be there as a supporter and guide whenever any difficult problems arise.

Of course Acton BV, Ennis set up the site for us in the first place, and continue to provide all technical services. We are very grateful to Michael Byrne and his team.
